Emmanuel Congregational Church

Sunday Morning Worship

Worship at Emmanuel on Sunday mornings is rich with praise and healing, transcendent moments, and a deep sense of community! Every week something new happens that you won’t want to miss!

Every worship service, designed and led by our co-pastors, is built around a unified theme with the scriptures, hymns, anthems, worship dramas, and adult sermon all reinforcing the message of the day. We liberally use theater, music, the visual arts, and multi-media. We always have a rich blend of music provided by our large main choir, soloists, instrumentalists, folk singers, praise bands and ensembles.

Once a month our Praise Band helps lead worship, and children are invited to join in with rhythm instruments! Each month, either our worship drama team or our clown troupe perform a drama or mime that sets the stage for the Sunday message.

The pastors’ messages are down-to-earth, inclusive, intelligent, and inspirational. The pastors also encourage church members to actively participate in worship through scripture reading, dramas, mission moments, spiritual interviews, or sacred sharing moments using flowers, the lighting of candles, or coming forward to healing prayer stations.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of every month – everyone is welcome at the Lord's table without exception. Our services are kid friendly. We include and engage the children as much as possible with regular children’s sermons and by inviting them to process, perform music, do show-n-tells, or actually act in the worship dramas or clown skits. Parents can drop off their littlest ones to our church nursery anytime from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. We offer superior childcare.

In the hour before worship, the children’s Sunday School lessons, the Adult Bible Study, and Silent Meditation group all explore the very scriptures and themes that have been selected for the worship service soon to follow. This helps everyone have a deeper experience. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, but always God opens our hearts and minds every Sunday morning with a transforming experience that makes a real difference in our lives.
