Choir

Emmanuel Church has a dynamic, extensive music program. Though we are not a large congregation, we have a sizeable choir full of gifted singers and soloists. In large part that is because of our very talented music staff. Under the enthusiastic leadership of our Choral Music Director, Irene Stackel, our choir has flourished. Phillip Lai, our organist/keyboardist, is a gifted accompanist, composer and singer. Most of his Preludes and Postludes are his own compositions.

The Emmanuel choir performs many styles of music from classical to contemporary, barbershop to gospel. The choir is always ready to venture into new musical territory, and is known for having a good time! For many years they have performed inspirational Christmas Cantatas accompanied by an orchestral score. The choir’s anthems are often enriched by a number of talented church instrumentalists on flute, recorder, Irish whistle, trumpet, even accordion!

The Emmanuel Church Choir is a people's choir that welcomes all youth and adults who love to sing!  Newcomers are always welcome.  The choir rehearses Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 9:30 a.m. Contact: Irene Stackel through the church office at 782-2650.
