Coffeehouses

Every few months Emmanuel reaches out spiritually to the greater community through its Friday evening coffeehouse “Soulful Connections Café.” Anderson Hall is converted into a dimly lit coffee shop full of ambience, soft chairs, and couches where the public, starting at 7:30 p.m., enjoys gourmet coffees, smoothies and desserts.

Musicians and ensembles from the church and local area provide original music. Mystical poetry is read. A featured local artist displays and describes some of his/her work to the audience. The lyrics of the songs, the poetry, and the work of the artist all express in some way a selected theme for the night. Past themes have been, “We Can Make a Difference,” “Transcendence,” “Making Peace,” and “Beauty.”

Soulful Connections Café is a place where people enjoy soulful music, thoughtful conversation about the issues of the day, and explore some of the deeper spiritual values and experiences of life through the universal language of art – and all this over a good cup of coffee!
