Emmanuel Congregational Church

Sunday School

Emmanuel Church welcomes you and your family!  We place a high priority on the spiritual growth and education of our children, youth and adults. Sunday School classes are held for all children in PreK-6th grade from 10:45 - 12 noon.  Youth Class (7th-12th grade) meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Youth Room, and then the youth are encouraged to attend worship as a group at 10:45 a.m.

Classes are PreK-K, 1st-3rd grade, 4-6th grade, and 7-12th grade.  Sunday School classes use the popular lectionary based curriculum "Seasons of the Spirit." This curriculum has an excellent blend of cognitive and experiential learning, and freely uses drama, music, and arts and crafts to engage the kids. The scriptures that the children’s Sunday school lessons are based on are the same scriptures that the pastors preach on in the worship service.

The youth class (grades 7-12) meets in the Youth Room at 9:30 a.m, and has a more open-ended learning process. Gerald Hettick, also our Youth Group leader, guides discussion and Bible Study. The youth are allowed refreshments during their class time. Rev. Ron meets with the class periodically to guide in-depth reflection on Jesus’ teachings, life’s big questions, and social issues. Rev. Ron also teaches the Confirmation Class at this time.
