Emmanuel Community Garden

The mission of the “Helping Hands” Community Garden is simply put: to grow food and give it away to area soup kitchens and food pantries. Our area food pantries generally have little fresh food to offer – most all their food stuffs come from cans. The Emmanuel Community Garden provides them throughout the summer with fresh organically grown produce, ranging from lettuce, carrots, peppers, to sweet corn. Last year nearly 4,000 pounds of fresh vegetables and over 10,000 ears of sweet corn were harvested and given away!

Spearheaded by Billie and Lyle Pickert, our Community Garden is located on their farm in Rodman. The Emmanuel Community Garden team meets every Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Pickert’s to weed, fertilize, and harvest. Come and help! Roll up your sleeves and join in on the fun and the joy of helping others. Contact Billie Pickert through the church office at 782-2650.
