Worship at Emmanuel on Sunday is rich with praise and celebration, spiritual discovery, meditative moments, healing prayer, a deep sense of community, and an awakening love for God in Christ! Through quiet Prayer and Meditation, Sunday School, Adult and Youth Classes, Worship, and Fellowship, we share this special day, enjoying our journey together as one family, welcoming new friends, and renewing ourselves as One Body of Christ for our journey through the coming week.

Our worship services are well integrated with the adult sermon, scriptures, hymns, anthems, and children’s sermon all building on each other around a unified theme for the day. Once a month, our worship drama team performs a drama or a clown skit that illustrates the scripture reading for that Sunday and ties in to the sermon.  Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, but God always uses our faithful thespians to open our hearts and minds to the message that Christ has prepared for us that day.

The first Sunday of every month is communion Sunday - all are welcome at the Lord's table. Occasionally throughout the year, the pastors lead special sharing rituals of remembrance, candle lighting, or healing on days like Mother’s Day, Children’s Sunday, or the last Sunday of each calendar year. They also lead response panels in which they interview volunteers sitting before the congregation.

At Emmanuel we are gifted with a wide array of singers, musicians, and musical groups who perform different musical traditions – classical, contemporary, gospel, or praise - under the guidance of our wonderful choir director, Irene Stackel. In addition to our large main choir, we enjoy hearing periodically from various soloists, ensembles, and our A Cappella Barbershop Choir. Once a month we share in a special time of glorifying God as the Praise Time Band inspires us to lift our voices in praise from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.  The music at Emmanuel is as varied as the membership, with the standing joke being:  "If you didn't like the music you heard this week, don't worry.  Next week it will be different!" 

There is a professional nursery staff available during Sunday School and worship to provide quality care for your little ones who may not be quite ready to sit through Sunday School or worship.  We have an elevator for those who might otherwise find it difficult to join the activities taking place on the lower level of our building, with deacons available to assist.

Fellowship time immediately follows worship, with coffee, tea, and a cold beverage available, as well as baked goods provided by members of the congregation.
